Kaylin,

My family is looking for a recipe for quick-bread baked in a jar I once found in
an old cook book. This how I got interested in breads in a jar. Please send any
recipes you have. Thank you.

I had a recipe for Jell-O salad that we really enjoyed. It had lime Jell-O, cottage
cheese, American cheese, pineapple and I don't remember what else. It made a
large salad. Any ideas?

This is for James who was looking for a receipt for Tuna Casserole. My version is
a very simple one and easy to make.

Tuna Casserole

1 package of egg noodles.
2 cans tuna. ( I use the one in oil but you can use in water also)
1 can cream of chicken soup.
Milk
Potato Chips for topping.

Boil a pan full of water with a little bit of salt in it. When water comes to a
boil add the noodles and cook over a medium fire until they can be cut by a fork.
Meanwhile drain the tuna and mix together in a bowl with the soup and milk.
Drain the noodles in a collinear and mix together with your tuna mixture.
Put in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish and put crushed potato chips on top.
Cover with foil and cook at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Be careful when removing the
foil due to the steam. Enjoy!

How to Make Homemade Bubble Blowing Potion

1/2 cup liquid dish washing detergent
1 1/2 cups water
2 teaspoons sugar

Gently stir these ingredients until combined. Store in an air-tight container
with a firm-fitting lid. It will keep pretty much indefinitely.

I found this recipe for homemade bubbles online when I googled it. Don't know
though if the corn syrup is necessary. I work in a pre school and we have never
added the corn syrup. I'd try it without. Maybe use less water? Experiment to see
what you can come up with! have fun!

2 1/2 quarts water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup clear liquid dish detergent (not soap for an automatic dishwasher)
Food coloring (optional)

You don't need fancy equipment to turn your home into a laboratory. Instead, find
science in everyday items you may already have at home. Here are two simple
experiments to try with your child(ren):

HOT & COLD BUBBLES:

What you need:

2/3 cup Dish Soap
1 cup Cold Water
2 teaspoons Sugar
1 cup hot Water
2 Bowls
Bubble wands, berry baskets, 6-pack rings, straws, or your hands!

WHAT YOU DO:

1. Together, make bubbles using 1/3 cup of the dish soap, 1 cup of cold water,
and 1 tsp. of sugar.
2. Make a second mixture using the same ingredients, but with hot water instead
of cold.
3. Blow bubbles with each mixture. What happens?

Explanation: Tell your youngster that hot air rises. That's why the warmer
bubbles float up in the air faster than the cooler ones!!

This is for Tasha who needs a cheap bubble mix for her children.

Buy the cheapest dishwashing liquid you can find, mix it with about 1/3 detergent
to 2/3 water. Stir gently, don't shake so you don't make it foam. Try it out
and adjust water/soap liquid as needed. You may find you can go with 1/2 water or
maybe you will need a little less than 1/3 water. this worked great for my
children when they were small.

My mother used to make bubble solution for her grandchildren and her Sunday
School class but I couldn't find the recipe. I searched 'Bubble Solution' on the
internet and the best I found was under Bubblesphere. There are 3 recipes. I
don't think my mother's included Karo syrup but it might have. I know it included
dish washing detergent and glycerin and water and the kids loved it.
Glycerin is not cheap but white Karo syrup works almost as well. Glycerin gives
you a sturdier more colorful bubble. Unless your water is really good, you may
need to use distilled water.

Bubble Formula #1

Dawn Ultra of Joy Ultra 1 part
Water (pref distilled) 15 parts
Glycerine or White KaroS Syrup 1/4 part

Bubble Formula #2

Regular Dawn or Joy 1 part
Water (pref distilled) 10 parts
Glycerine or White Karo Syrup 1/4 part

Bubble formula #3 (Super Bubbles)

Regular Dawn or Joy 2 parts
Glycerine 4 parts
White Karo Syrup 1 part
