NOTES : This recipe is one my father-in-law, Arlie R. White, is famous for making!
We recently adjusted it by substituting Splenda for the sugar and you would never
know the difference. We have also made it with sunflower seeds instead of
pecans, and left the raisins out for low-carb diets. Enjoy!   Kaylin

I love your site. I really enjoy all the different requests and recipes.  It's a great site. My question is - Can you use the dough enhancer if you make bread by hand?

Mary

Note from Kaylin: The answer is Yes! Of course the Dough Enhancer can be used with Any yeast dough recipe whether it is made in a bread maker or not. I hope you all enjoy using it!

Hi everyone.

I hope that there is someone out there who can help me. A short time ago, I noticed recipes for "Gatorade" like drinks. A friend's husband works in a factory type setting and there is no AC. It gets so hot in there. But he cannot drink any Gatorade because he is a diabetic. He does drink water, but that does not necessarily replace the other nutrients that he is losing through the excessive sweating. Do any of you out there in recipe land have a sugar free recipe for a sports drink? Thanks so much!

Maggie

Note from Kaylin: The new recipe collection, Bandana Fundraisers, has recipes for Sports Drinks as well as regular drinks that are very unique. Either recipe can be made with Splenda- AND these recipes are similar to the new Crystal Light packets available in stores now, in the fact that they are for homemade packets that you can add to 20 ounce bottles of water so you can make your own flavored drinks or sports drinks anywhere you want to without needing to carry the entire drink with you!

Hi Kaylin,

Thanks to you for what you do, and also to all the great readers out there for their
great recipes. I need help. I am on a low carb diet, you know the one! Getting
bored but need to stick with it. Can your readers help with some really low carb
treats, entrees, bars, salads, etc? Thanks in advance for everyone's time.

Carol

This is in response to Lori who requested a recipe for Snickers Salad:

SNICKER SALAD

3 med. apples, peeled and chopped
1 can mandarin oranges, drained and chopped
1 banana, chopped
3 Snickers candy bars, chopped
1 large container Cool Whip
pecans

Mix fruits together in bowl. Add chopped up candy bars. Stir in Cool Whip. Top
with chopped pecans.

NOTE: The candy bars are easier to chop if they are slightly chilled.

Snicker's Salad

This recipe was one that a childhood friend made at a 4th of July party one year.
I've made it ever since and never fail to get requests and raves. It's so simple to
put together and everyone loves it. I have never actually measured anything, I just
pick the size bowl depending on how many people I'm feeding and fill it up. (I
always buy two bags of candy, and tend to put a little extra chocolate in the
salad!)

4 large granny smith apples, chopped (with peel)
1 bag Snickers miniature candy bars, frozen &,chopped
1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip Topping

6-8 servings, 20 minutes prep

Snicker's Salad

1 (3.4oz.) package instant vanilla pudding
1 (8 oz.) container whipped topping, thawed
5 regular size (2.07 oz.) Snickers chocolate bars
2 medium apples
1 cup milk

Mix pudding & cold milk. Stir till thick & chill in refrigerator for several minutes.
Chop apple (peeled or unpeeled) into small bite size pieces. Cut up 5 chocolate
bars into small chunks. In bowl with pudding, fold in whipped topping, then add
apples & Snickers until well mixed. Serve & enjoy.

This is for Debbie who wanted macaroon cookie recipes. Very easy and few
ingredients.

Magnificent Macaroons

2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk (like Eagle Brand)
3 cups coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-3 drops red food coloring

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir vanilla and food coloring into the sweetened
condensed milk until evenly blended. Fold in coconut and mix well. Drop by
teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until delicate
brown. Cool on a flat surface. Makes about 30 cookies.
